Pre-production is the process of planning some of the elements involved in a film, play, or other performance. There are three parts in a production: pre-production, production, and post-production. Pre-production ends when the planning ends and the content starts being produced

The Shining

The Shining was a Hit in the 1980's Directed by Stanley Krubrick and Written by  Stephen king with a budget of  19Million USD and took 5 Years for it to finally be made, The Cast consisted of Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall. The Film was set in the Timberline Lodge and actually got changed a lot throughout as the famous room "237" was actually supposed to be 217 but was changed due to the staffs request, The popular scene of Jack breaking through the door was all Improvised.

Universal is horizontally integrated this shows that they have many companies over a range of items.Universal are also vertically integrated this shows that they are involved in all stages of film making.
